FINE COFFEE ROASTED DAILY IN FRONT OF YOU SINCE 2003
100% Arabica coffee beans from around the world
x x x x x

Like fine wines, coffees beans also vary from country to country, region to region, and year to year.

We are specialized in blending and roasting fine Arabica coffee beans. This venture was brought to life because coffee lovers need a wider choice of fresh roasted high quality beans. Since 2003 our family owned and operated business brings that choice to you. We won a bronze award at the 2005 New Zealand Coffee Festival.

We can satisfy your fine taste with:

* fresh roasted and green coffee beans
* all types of roasts
* 8 single coffee origins
* Organic, Fair Trade and decaffeinated coffee
* 10 coffee blends
* make your own blend
* a cup from any coffee on display

We are roasting the coffee beans with made on order 'Diedrich' IR-3 infrared coffee roaster that has been awarded 1st place for Best New Product at the Specialty Coffee Association of America Exhibition in 1998. With its unique clean burning characteristics this machine can roast up to 3kg per batch in 15 to 20 minutes. Our 'Mahlkoenig' 501 coffee grinder has 15 precise grind settings ranging from Extra Fine to Coarse and can grind 1kg of coffee in a minute.

Infinite care goes into the growing, harvesting and processing of coffee. Equal care goes into the roasting, grinding and packing of the finished product. The two basic tips not to waste these efforts and to enjoy a perfect cup are:

Buy less and frequently
After roasting coffee flavourful oils are exposed to the damaging air. Coffee is best if used a day or two after roasting, and if stored properly, flavor and aroma should not diminish significantly until after seven to ten days. Three weeks after roasting coffee is referred as stale, if not stored properly. Grinded coffee stales much faster. If possible buy beans and do not grind more coffee than you will use for immediate brewing.

Store properly
Coffee should be stored in a clean, dry, air-tight container, in a cool, dark place. Never store your coffee in the refrigerator. Coffee will absorb moisture after opening and can absorb flavors and aromas from other food products in your refrigerator. Freezing coffee can also have a damaging effect, and we do not recommend this practice.

We are open: Tuesday to Friday 9.15am - 5.30pm; Saturday 9.15am - 3.30pm.
